The funding round was led by Magic Fund, 2am VC, Astir VC, JITO Angel Network.

Mumbai, Jan 24, 2022

: Super Scholar, Mumbai based startup, announced it has raised USD 400K in the recent funding round. Renowned investors such as MAGIC Fund, 2am VC, Astir VC, JITO Angel Network, and many others entrusted Super Scholar to continue building an ecosystem where monetary barriers don’t stop students from engaging in productive online courses. The platform will utilize recent funding to strengthen its courses and scholarship offerings to ensure more students can leverage these facilities or grants.

Super Scholar was founded in 2021 by Rohan Lodha and Priyes Bamne and is 100X.VC Portfolio company. Super Scholar is an online platform providing scholarships for students. The platform enables users to build profiles and apply for scholarships. The platform also offers super coins that enable boosting the application of students.

Talking about the funding Rohan Lodha, CEO of Super Scholar said, “We are delighted to have raised first cheque from 100X.VC and close $400k follow-on funding. We started Super Scholar with a massive vision to make online courses accessible to every student in India and across the world and it’s time to execute now.”

Commenting on the announcement Hershel Mehta, Co-Founder and Partner at 2am VC said, “Super scholar is aiming to solve a real pain point for Indian Gen Z learners. What got us excited was Super Scholar’s aim to help learners with their own self-learning discovery. We felt their mission aligns well with India’s Gen Z desire to shift away from a forced reactive type of learning to a personal and desired based proactive type of learning,”

Ninad Karpe, Partner, 100X.VC

, added, “We are delighted to be the first institutional investor in Super Scholar, which has pioneered the concept of edtech scholarships for GenZ students. Given that many brilliant students are looking for some way to support their studies without facing financial burdens, we strongly believe that Super Scholar can grow tremendously and become a leader in this space.”

The ed-tech platform had raised a cheque from 100X.VC as part of the funds’s class 06 portfolio earlier in 2021.
