Mumbai, January 28, 2022

Broomees, a New Delhi-based startup for training and employing domestic workers, has raised $600,000 in the seed round, led by 2 AM VC and Magic Fund and two USA-based micro VCs. The round also saw participation from angel investors like Puneet Deora (MD, Deoras Group), Gaurav Choksi (Exec. Director, Hindustan Platinum), Rupark Sarswat (CEO, India Glycols Ltd), Asad Daud (Director, SAT Industries Ltd), Archana Priyadarshini (General Partner, PointOne Capital), among others.

The startup plans to utilize the fresh funds in setting up training cum registration centers to impart job skills and soft skills to cooks, babysitters, house helps etc. The company will also focus on better user experience and automation of processes to further fuel every step with technology using its app and web platforms – available for its customers as well as workers.

Founded in 202, Broomees has played the role of a local superhero for hundreds of workers, especially women, in Delhi. Broomees is a worker-focused company that doesn’t charge a single penny from its workers to upskill and employ them. Formalizing the bottom of the pyramid, Broomees is a game-changer for both its customers and workers. It has already served more than 1500 customers with a safe and trained workforce for their households.

Broomees currently offers monthly and annual subscriptions to its customers and they can choose between cooks, babysitters, caretakers, and all-rounders by simply downloading the mobile app or visiting the website – broomees.com.

Vaibhav Agrawal, Founder & CEO of Broomees,

said, “There’s no better time than now to solve this deep-rooted problem. Thanks to digitalization and the boom of startups for the blue-collar workforce, Broomees is placed in an excellent position to achieve its targets.”

Ninad Karpe, Partner at 100X.VC,

said, “Finding good domestic workers is extremely difficult, unorganized and cumbersome and a challenge faced by households across India. Broomees will train such domestic workers, streamline the process and make it easy to hire them. Broomees will not only solve a daily problem faced across the country but also generate employment. Starting with the focus on the Delhi-NCR region, we believe that Broomees has the potential for tremendous growth for its offering.”

The B2C Marketplace startup had raised a cheque from 100X.VC as part of the Fund’s Class 06 Portfolio.
